Rowan Cottage is a beautifully presented detached period home in Tresean, Cubert, ideal for families, groups of up to three couples, or parties including a guest who prefers to stay on the ground floor. Sleeping up to six adults plus one child in a cot, it offers a blend of character, comfort, and modern convenience. Dogs are very welcome (up to two, free of charge). The property features a large enclosed front and rear garden, off-road parking for three cars, and access to Crantock Bay Leisure Club facilities, including a heated indoor pool, spa bath, and tennis court.

Living

The ground-floor living areas include a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove and French doors opening to the rear patio and garden, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room with garden views. The interiors are designed for comfort and practicality, with central heating throughout and high-quality furnishings.

Eating

The kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and washing machine, allowing for convenient self-catering. Guests can dine indoors in the dining room or outside on the rear patio with table, chairs, and a charcoal BBQ. Morning coffee can be enjoyed in the south-west facing front garden, which benefits from all-day sunshine.

Sleeping

Rowan Cottage has three bedrooms:

  • Ground-floor master bedroom with king-size bed, large en-suite bathroom, and French doors to the garden

  • First-floor double bedroom with charming shuttered windows overlooking the front garden

  • First-floor twin/zip-and-link bedroom, which can be configured as a super king-size bed

The property includes a family bathroom with a walk-in shower, wash basin, heated towel rail, and WC. Travel cot and highchair are available on request.

A short drive brings you to Holywell Bay, known for its dramatic twin islets and wide open sands, or Fistral Beach in Newquay, the UK’s surf capital. Whether you prefer sunbathing, paddling with the kids, or catching waves, the local beaches offer endless variety.

Cornwall is home to a wealth of family-friendly attractions and cultural landmarks. Just along the coast in Newquay, you’ll find Newquay Zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium, and activity centres offering everything from surfing to paddleboarding. For longer adventures, follow the coast path towards Holywell Bay or Newquay, stopping to enjoy sweeping ocean vistas along the way. Inland, the Gannel Estuary provides a calmer setting for riverside walks rich in wildlife and birdlife.

Location & Directions

From the A3075 travelling South take High Lanes into Cubert village. Pass through Cubert and follow the signs for Holywell Bay on Holywell Road. After approximately half a mile take Sea View Lane on the right hand side until you reach the T junction with Lewannick Road. Turn right and then immediately left onto Commons Road.
Follow Commons Road for approximately 300 yards. Commons Road turns sharp left and Rowan Cottage can be found on the right hand side just after the turning for Tresean/Treworgans.
